I had admired the card that the artist Roswitha Geisler drew for Christmas this year see her post here so much that I asked her if she would send me one all the way to the US, promising that I would draw her a card and send it to her as well. At that point ‘Rosie’ didn’t know me at all and yet she agreed. So that night I drew her a little card of a robin sitting on a bare winter branch and sent it to her. No, I didn’t take a photo of it! 😛
A couple of weeks later, I received her card of little ‘Elli’ in the mail. When I told her I had received it, she said that she had gotten mine as well.
It is wonderful to make friends on the blogosphere! 🙂
I told Rosie that I would post a photo of it next to my tiny table-top tree.
And here it is!
Awe that so sweet. Indeed we have been exchanging cards too with friends around the world. It is a rarity these days!

Let me know if you’d like a card from me, Mel and Suan. I’ve got another Global US postage stamp that I could use! Wouldn’t that be fun? 🙂

What a beautiful card! I love the contrast between the bare grey branches and the girl’s colorful clothing.

A lovely photo, Timi. Both the card and the little tree look so pretty. I’m wondering whether little ‘Elli’ is a relative of Roswitha’s. Perhaps it will tell me if I hop over to her post. It’s funny how the world seems such a small place through our blogs. It’s wonderful to think we can be actually ‘talking’ to people many thousands of miles away.

Roswitha aka Rosie actually has three posts about the card. There’s one that shows Elli at the age she is in the painting, with it being held by Elli as she is now. I forget, but I think she may be 12 or 13 now. Amazingly lovely and does acrobatics on horseback. I hope you can find the post. It’s part of a series that Rosie has done where her models hold the paintings of themselves at the earlier age… Oh, and I think Elli is the daughter of family friends, but I could be wrong about that! I’m wrong about so many things… 🙂
And yes, I love the way we can form friendships and chat here on the blogosphere. It’s truly amazing and a real boon to life. 🙂
