No new Viking garb for me. 😦 The entire outfit that was made for me, including Hedeby boots, in a wonderful workshop in Poland disappeared somewhere between Warsaw and the US Postal Service. I had posted about the garb earlier: My new Viking garb is on the way!

The package was last seen on December 29th, at which time the Polish postal service in Warsaw said that they had shipped it to the USPS. The package has never been logged in anywhere in the US.
The Polish postal service had told the workshop owner when she sent it that I would receive it by December 31st, but alas! It has gone missing, and the SCA events that I wanted to wear the outfit at are over. 😦
The best-laid plans…. Â *sigh*

Thank you. Yes, there will be other events in the future, but this was cold-weather garb, and I’m not planning to attend more winter events until next year. Maybe the new things will be here by then! 🙂

Thanks, Robin. The owner had the package insured, so she will be issuing me a refund once the insurance issue is settled. 😛 I’ll just have to keep wearing my old clothes. Life goes on!

How upsetting. Christmas is a very busy time for postal workers. I suspect they either get a bit careless, or temporary workers don’t learn the systems properly.

That’s awful news, Timi … so disappointing. You were so excited about it being on its way. It may well turn up, though. Some post can go walkabout for weeks. If not, I hope you haven’t already paid for it. If you have, surely you’d get your money back.
