I was nominated yesterday for the Blogger Recognition Award by Robin of the blog En Courage! Here is what she had to say about my nomination:
Let Us Live Like We Mean It: Timi has gone through some hard struggles in life, and it was in sharing some of them that I first “met” her. Her blog is varied, as her life is varied and full of adventure. She is an interesting lady!
The Rules for this award include:
- Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
- Write a post to show your award.
- Give a brief story of how your blog started.
- Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
- Select 15 other bloggers you want to give this award to.
- Comment on each blog and let them know you have nominated them & provide the link to the post you created.
Those of you who know me also know that I don’t follow rules! 🙂 But I will do some of the above things, at least partially.
First of all, I definitely want to thank Robin for this, my first-ever blogging award! 🙂 And the link to her blog is EN COURAGE.
I originally started my blog back in 2014, but it fizzled out after two or three posts. Then last summer, I think it was June of 2016, I simply got the burning urge to blog and, voila, here we are, months and posts and posts later! My advice to new bloggers would be 1. WRITE and 2. POST. Simple enough. Don’t be afraid to post what you write–don’t agonize endlessly over what you have written. Actually the entire world will NOT be reading your posts, unless you have the good (or bad) fortune to go viral. That hasn’t happened to me, and I’m glad of it!
There are just a few blogs that I would like to nominate; they are the ones that I know really well and read practically every post of. Here they are, in no particular order:
- My Life as an Artist (2)–Janet Weight Reed is an amazing watercolorist living in London, whose ‘magical hummingbirds’ brighten up many of my days.
- Traveling Matters to us–Mel & Suan seem to travel EVERYWHERE from their home base in Singapore and write delightful posts about their travels.
- A Writer’s Perspective–April Munday is a professional writer in England with expertise in several historical periods. Her novels are wonderful, and her posts are very entertaining and educational at the same time.
- Big Dreams for a Tiny Garden–Robyn Haynes has some great ideas for gardens in a restricted space which I, as a condo-dweller, am always interested in.
- Millie Thom–Millie is a writer from England whose trilogy about the times of Alfred the Great is two-thirds published. I’m eagerly awaiting the last installment!
- The Earl of Southampton’s Cat–This blog has to be one of the most inventive ones out there in the blogosphere. The posts are “written” by Gib the Cat who lives a most interesting life indeed in Elizabethan England. The research Denise puts into each post is incredible, as is the quality of her writing.
- By the Sea–Barbara Rodgers’ blog is always a welcome respite from the sometimes-hectic pace of my own days.
- QUEST–Larry Paul Brown is an inspirational writer who has been through some real challenges in his life.
I could add many others, but will stop here, since I must now go to each of these lovely blogs to let the nominees know what I’ve done to them! Bwa-ha-ha-ha! 😛
Well done on receiving the award yourself. Timi. and thank you so much for nominating me! I really appreciate it, as well as your kind words about my books. I actually have five Award posts waiting to be written up – one of them being a different version of this one. You’ve just inspired me to get them all done, although I may have to do more than one award per post. I’ll ‘set to’ before the end of the week. 😀
I love your posts, too. And I agree with Robin about your varied and adventurous life. You are certainly an interesting lady.

Thanks, Millie! I’m going to be taking a break from blogging now, but I’ll be reading PoV and waiting for the concluding volume, too!

I’m not surprised you’re taking a break – you have a lot on your plate right now. I’ll be doing the same myself in another week or two.
