Lisa M. McLymont is not only one of my favorite artists, I actually have met her and seen her studio and been to a couple of her opening receptions. Plus, I have bought two of her wonderful pieces.
One portrait was featured in an earlier post, “Necessary and Beautiful,” by Lisa McLymont, which I was able to purchase first. But all along I had envisioned having a companion piece from that same series.
Here it is. It is called “The Peace in Smiles.” (Please excuse the reflections in the glass–I’m not an accomplished photographer):

And here’s what they look like together:

Besides making beautiful visual art, I think McLymont, an award-winning artist with pieces in many venues, has a real gift for naming her pieces in such a way that the titles add layers of meaning to the visuals.
If you’d like, I’ll happily share her contact info in the comments!
Stunning portraits! I especially admire artists who can draw or paint people so realistically.

Aren’t they wonderful, Barbara? I asked her if they are “real people” and she said, “No, although I do study people’s expressions and use a composite to make each portrait.” I find that really amazing, because I have, in my earlier days, been a portraitist, but my “imaginary” portraits just looked so stock, not like real people at all. Whereas McLymont’s portraits definitely look as though they are from the life. ❤
