After getting the wonderful news that I don’t have cancer, I went out and tackled the long-neglected (as in perhaps three years) perennial shade flower bed in the back yard at the condo. The ground was nice and soft, and I managed to pull up a lot of noxious weeds by their roots, and entire root systems. Which would have been impossible later in the season. Yay for me!

There used to be a big pine tree here, and you couldn’t see the houses back there. Darn!

A volunteer tree–what kind is it? It looks so happy. I don’t think I can bear to cut it down…

This nameless plant is amazing and will soon bloom again.

Can anyone ID this tree?

Bird cum squirrel feeder. It’s OK with me both ways. The kitties love watching the squirrels.

Finch feeder. Tons of goldfinches will come as soon as they realize it’s back up.

Then I went back around to the front to put away my gardening tools, and guess who was watching out the front door? Ophelia!
