This week I had planned to spend Medieval camping with 10,000 other enthusiasts (nuts??) of the Modern Middle Ages from the Society for Creative Anachronism at an annual event called the Pennsic War, which is in its 47th year.
But this year, as was the case last year, I was prevented from attending by health matters. So I’ve never been there yet. September will mark only the completion of my second year in the SCA, so it’s not like I’ve spent decades without being at this seminal event. Still, I so much long to go. Next year, I hope!
Meanwhile, here are some photos from Pennsic, which is going on as I write this. The photos, except for the one above and the very last one, were taken by His Grace, Duke Cellach MacChormach (mka Jesse Weber).

Some lovely photos there, Timi, and some remarkable craftwork. Fingers crossed that you can go next year.
