My older son Nick’s longtime girlfriend Summer is from Tianjin, China, about an hour away from Beijing. They visited her family there in April.
Tianjin is a major port city in northeastern China and is the world’s eighth busiest port by cargo tonnage, according to Wikipedia. It has a population of over 15 million people, which makes it the fourth largest city in China, after Shanghai, Beijing, and Guangzhou.
It always amazes me to find out how much I do not know about China!
It was Nick’s second visit to see Summer’s family in China. See My Son Went to China and Nick & The Great Wall of China. On his first visit, they went to many places in China. This time they were mostly in Summer’s hometown of Tianjin, except for a trip to Japan. For those photos, see Nick and Summer in Japan.
Nick especially enjoys the food in China. As I’ve said before, he’s a foodie. There are many worse things to be! You’ll see lots of photos of food here. 🙂
So here are some of my favorite photos and short videos from the more than one hundred ones that he shared with me from their visit.
A bit of video from a tour boat ride they took, which also produced the photo at the top of the post:

And a big family dinner, which produced lots of food photos, and a video, too. I don’t know how chefs can work in those hats!
China also has one of my favorite foods (if it can be called that! :P)
That’s all for now, folks! ❤
