Yesterday I did a dry run of the dress and makeup I’ll be wearing this Saturday for a wedding reception and then next Saturday for my 50th (!) high school reunion.

It’s a good thing I did try out doing makeup, because I almost never wear any. I discovered that I had completely lost the knack of applying mascara! Eyeliner was a challenge, too. 😛

Then it turned out that the cheap eye makeup that I had bought a few days ago made my eyes itch wildly. I had to take it off right away.

So today it was back to the store to get the hypoallergenic things I should have gotten in the first place.

I’m so glad that I didn’t wait until Saturday to discover that I was allergic to the eye makeup I had first bought and also to discover that it now takes me at least three times as long to put on makeup as it did back in the day. I’ll have to allot much more time to beautifying myself. 🙂
